Jesus' Commandments-16 (SD73)

Mat 7:7-8 " Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives, and he who seeks finds, and to him who knocks it will be opened."
Our Lord in His first sermon on the Mount of Olive promised His disciples that whatever they asked, they would received. After His disciples had believed, obeyed and loved Him, our Lord Jesus in His final sermon told them that whatever they asked of Him, it would be granted to them thus fulfilling His promise of 'Ask, and it will be given to you'.

What Must we Seek?

1. Seek the Lord
Jer 29:13 And you will seek Me and find Me, when you search for Me with all your heart.
All those who want to seek the Lord must search for Him with all their heart in sincerity and truth. Many will fast while meditating on His pure words (bible). They must be free from worldliness, carnality, wickedness, covetousness, sins and heresies.
Ezra 6:21 Then the children of Israel who had returned from the captivity ate together with all who had separated themselves from the filth of the nations of the land in order to seek the Lord God of Israel.

2. Seek for His Mercy
Jer 26:18-19 "Micah of Moresheth prophesied in the days of Hezekiah king of Judah, and spoke to all the people of Judah, saying, 'Thus says the Lord of hosts: "Zion shall be plowed like a field, Jerusalem shall become heaps of ruins, And the mountain of the temple Like the bare hills of the forest." Did Hezekiah king of Judah and all Judah ever put him to death? Did he not fear the Lord and seek the Lord's favor? And the Lord relented concerning the doom which He had pronounced against them. But we are doing great evil against ourselves."
When we (esp. pastors and Christian leaders) have sinned, we must thank those exposing our sins and not to persecute them, for at our repentance, our Lord will relent His chastisement upon us.

3. Seek the Kingdom of God
Mat 6:33 "But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you."
Once we are saved, the Holy Spirit will dwell in us as the seal of redemption. Brethren, is the Holy Spirit within us our servant, whom we despatch to do our chores?
Or is every commandment of His a royal decree, which we perform with all our heart, soul, strength and might? Then the Kingdom of God has been established within us for we have respected, honoured and revered Him as the King.

4. Seek His Righteousness
1 Pet 4:1-4 Therefore, since Christ suffered for us in the flesh, arm yourselves also with the same mind, for he who has suffered in the flesh has ceased from sin, that he no longer should live the rest of his time in the flesh for the lusts of men, but for the will of God. For we have spent enough of our past lifetime in doing the will of the Gentiles—when we walked in lewdness, lusts, drunkenness, revelries, drinking parties, and abominable idolatries.
When we seek His Kingdom, our Lord will be delighted for He wants us to be His bride.

Carnal and Worldly Leaders
Phi 2:19-21 But I trust in the Lord Jesus to send Timothy to you shortly, that I also may be encouraged when I know your state. For I have no one like-minded, who will sincerely care for your state. For all seek their own, not the things which are of Christ Jesus.
Many of Apostle Paul's co-workers were carnal. So it is not surprising to find churches filled with carnal and worldly Christian leaders especially in these last days.
