The Acceptable Will Of God (SD26)

2Tim 3:1-6  But know this, that in the last days perilous times will come: For men will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, unloving, unforgiving, slanderers, without self-control, brutal, despisers of good, traitors, headstrong, haughty, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God, having a form of godliness but denying its power. And from such people turn away!

In the last days many so-called Christians are not born again for they have believed in the another or washed down gospel. Without the Holy Spirit in them, they are powerless against the works of the flesh. They even deny the power of the Word of God, which created this universe.

John 8:31-32  Then Jesus said to those Jews who believed Him, “If you abide in My word, you are My disciples indeed. And you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.”

It is only when we are born again that we will read and understand His words. Then out of our love for our Lord Jesus, who redeemed us from damnation, that we obligingly obey His words. Because of our love for Him by keeping His words, we will know the truth which will set us free from our former sinful nature, thoughts, works, etc.

Eph 4:22-24  that you put off, concerning your former conduct, the old man which grows corrupt according to the deceitful lusts, and be renewed in the spirit of your mind, and that you put on the new man which was created according to God, in true righteousness and holiness.

When we love people, we don't look for mistakes to condemn them but excuses to help their weaknesses. When we are no longer covetous, we become generous, and will give instead of take. We must put on the new man, which was created in true righteousness and holiness.

1Pet 1:13-15  Therefore gird up the loins of your mind, be sober, and rest your hope fully upon the grace that is to be brought to you at the revelation of Jesus Christ; as obedient children, not conforming yourselves to the former lusts, as in your ignorance; but as He who called you is holy, you also be holy in all your conduct,

The acceptable will of God is that we be holy for God is Holy. Before the priest could enter the Holy Place to serve Him, he must wash himself with the water of the bronze Laver and then put on the holy priesthood garment. Similarly, before we can enter into the Holy Place to serve Him, we must crucify our old man and then walk in love and holiness (putting on the new man).

2Tim 3:16-17  All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness, that the man of God may be complete, thoroughly equipped for every good work.

Once we are inside the Holy Place, the Spirit of truth (light from the Lampstand) will guide us into the understanding and knowledge of His words and will also lead us into all truth. This will be the most joyful time when we can truly understand Him in His great love, greatness, power, longsuffering, patience, mercies, compassion, etc.

Brethren,  I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that you present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to God, which is your reasonable service. And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God. (Rom 13:1-2)
